William Perrine Obituary

William “Bill” Nelson Perrine, age 83, of Canova, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at his residence. Per his request, no services will be held.

Bill was born in Eustis, FL on December 23, 1937, the first child of Wm Clendenen and Velma (Horn) Perrine. He grew up and attended school in the Eustis area. After a stint in the Army he moved to Minnesota. Living in Elk River and Center City before moving to SD. He married Lois Blum on June 13, 1986 and shortly after this time Bill worked for Powell Red Angus Farms for many years. In 1993, they moved to Canova where he was employed as the utilities manager for the town of Canova.

Bill was always active in many community activities including the Canova Community Club, where he was the president for several years. He also played Santa Claus in Canova and Howard and was a past member of the Canova Fire Department. Bill enjoyed cooking for family and friends but there was nothing he enjoyed more than riding his motorcycle every chance he had, regardless of the weather. Bill had the “gift of gab”, something that was known to anyone whoever met him.

Those blessed to share in his life are his beloved wife Lois of Canova; son Gene (Galina) Perrine of Clinton, KY, step-son Mark (Jeanette) Blum of Texarkana, TX; brothers, Clinton of Eustis, FL, Robert (Joyce) of Fairplay, SC; one sister, Mary Mitchem of Eustis, FL; sister-in-law, Phyllis Edstrom and her son Doug; granddaughters, Lindsey Curry-Boldt of MN, Jennifer Kenyon of Sioux Falls, Jessica Anderson of Round Rock, TX, and Jaimie Anderson of Ames, IA; one great-grandson Arthur Kenyon; and many nieces and nephews. Bill is also survived by his special friend Deanna Rustand; and one step-daughter, Lynn (Rick) Partridge of Lino Lakes, MN.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Lee Rustand; step-daughter, Kathleen Anderson; and his forever friends, Daisy May and Mr. Bear.
