Vivian Hanson Jacobson was born June 11, 1929 in Howard, South Dakota to Sarah and Hans Hanson. She graduated from Howard High School and attended General Beadle State Teacher’s College prior to marrying Ronald Jacobson. They farmed near Garretson, South Dakota for several years before moving to Dallas where she worked as an Executive Secretary.

She worked as an executive secretary in the insurance and banking industry in Kansas City and Texas. She was very active in Eastern Star in Kansas City. Vivian joined her daughter in Texas in 2001 and was active in the Norwegian Society and Advent Lutheran Church in Arlington.

Vivian is survived by her son Randall Jacobson and his wife, 2 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; her brother, Lyle Hanson, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, and her husband.
