On Sunday, July 5, 2020, Thomas Anthony Dold, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 68 at home with his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Friday, July 10, 2020, at St. Agatha Catholic Church in Howard. Inurnment will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Tom was born on March 19, 1952 in Mitchell, SD to Frank and Elly Vivian (Pedersen) Dold. He grew up in the city of Howard, SD. He graduated from Howard High School in 1970. After high school, he attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion.
After his time at the University, he returned to Howard to join his father in the family business, Dold Implement Co.
On April 12, 1982, he married Bobbie Rae Hetland in Carrizo Springs, TX. Together, they raised four children, Anthony, Andrew, Anna and Alexa.
Tom had a love of music, singing and playing guitar. He also enjoyed hunting and family vacations in the Black Hills, flying his airplane and spending time with his family. He loved playing with and teaching his three grandchildren, James, Greer, and Evelyn. Tom was on the County Commission for 16 years. He also had a passion for studying history and genealogy. He was known for his vast knowledge, his ability to fix anything, his storytelling and his kind heart.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie and their four children: Anthony (Jess) Dold, Madison, SD; Andrew Dold, Howard, SD; Anna (Ryan) Krcil, Sioux Falls, SD; Alexa (Mitch) Grode, Copperas Cove, TX, his three grandchildren, one brother and four sisters.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Frank and his mother, Elly Vivian.
