Steven "Steve" R. Brown

Steven R. Brown, age 79, of Howard, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022, at the Madison Regional Health System. A memorial visitation will be 9-11 AM, Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the Willoughby Funeral Home.

Steve was born on February 18, 1942, to Fred and Darline (Perry) Brown, in Bridgewater. He was the 7th child out of 8. When Steve was five, the family moved to a farm in Salem. He attended country school before attending Salem High School. On March 24, 1972, he married Linda Kruse and to this union four children were born.

Steve farmed most of his life with his father and also worked part-time at Feterals in Salem. He later moved to California and worked in Los Angeles for 20 years until being injured at work which eventually led to him relocating to Howard in 1998.

He loved to work on his 1950 GMC pickup and doing anything related to the farm.

He is survived by his wife Linda; three daughters, Judy of Brookings, Kim of Madison, and Katrina of Howard; five grandchildren; and one brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Roger; three brothers; and three sisters.
