He began his life on April 11, 1962. Originally born in La Habrá, CA, to Glenn Duane Bandy and Iva Kaye (Thompson) Bandy, his family moved to Norwich, NY, before eventually ending up in Dallas, Texas, where he lived for 49 years. After graduating from W. T. White High School in 1980, his career resided mainly in the newspaper business, having worked for the Dallas Morning News for decades; there, he worked up from a paper boy to a higher management position. In May of 1997, he married his wife and life partner Kathy (Wenz) Bandy.
His whole life he loved fully, remaining a dedicated and caring son, brother, father, and husband. He was known for his love for travel, often on road trips, and in his younger life across the world. He spent a great deal of time caring for his family and his mother in Dallas, where they lived across the street from each other. He went on several mission trips with his home church, Chapel Hill, through organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and UM Army, where he helped build and repair houses for those in need. Scott was known for his incredible and precise memory, his helpful nature, and his forward thinking.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, his three children, Daniel, Francis, and Sarah, two brothers, Steven (Lisa) of the Colony and Kenneth (Kathy) of Georgetown, and his mother, Iva Kaye.
