Mary Jo Fargo

MaryJo Fargo ,71,  of Canova, passed away Wednesday, August 28th, 2019, at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Per her request their will be no services.

MaryJo Porter was born December 10, 1947, to Delos and Mary (Andres) Porter. She graduated from Aberdeen High School in WA. On November 17, 1979, she married Jack Fargo at their home in Aberdeen. Throughout her life she held various jobs, but will be remembered for being a mother and caretaker at home.

MaryJo loved animals, from the gophers in her yard, to the birds in the barn, to the rabbits in their holes, and to the cats and dogs in the house. She spent her entire life as a caretaker, keeping things alive.

She is survived by her husband Jack; two sons, Kelly of Canova, and Richard of Aberdeen, WA; two brothers, Richard “Rip” (Marlys) Porter of Sioux Falls, and Dave (Lein) Porter of Sioux Falls; and one grandson Conor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister Bobbie.
