Marlene Dahlgard

Marlene (Froehlich) Dahlgard, age 72, of Aurora, CO, received her Crown of Life from the Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2019, while at home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Canova. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Marlene was born on September 29, 1946, to Ray and Rosie Froehlich in Madison, SD. She was born again into her Christian fath by Holy Baptism on October 13, 1946. Marlene was confirmed in her faith on April 10, 1960. She attended Sioux Falls School of Practical Nursing after graduation from high school. Some years later she started her own housecleaning business, which kept her busy for 30 years until her retirement.

Marlene loved animals, especially dogs and cats, and has many pets through her childhood and adult life. She also enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers and plants – lots of indoor plants! Marlene became a member of Christ Our Redeemer congregation in 1981; and served her Savior in the church as the financial secretary for 10 years. She was faithful in her worship life, always sitting in the same pew and ready with kind words.

She is survived by her sister Janet (Don) Maher; three grandchildren, Cody, Dale, and Emalee Jackson; Bob Bergin – her best friend and boyfriend; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in by her daughter, Kelli Jackson, to whom she was a loving mom. She enjoyed visiting Kelli and her family at holidays and special occasions. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Karen Sweeney.
