Marion Pauline Paulette Lambert passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019 at the age of 86. Marion was born in Geneva, Illinois on October 30, 1932. The youngest daughter of Ernest and Josephine (Roti) Paulette, Italian Americans who immigrated from Italy to America in the late 1880s, Marion joined three brothers and a sister.
Services with prayer and family present to greet friends will begin 5:30pm Monday, April 22, 2019, with a Memorial service to be said 7pm all at the Endeavor Presbyterian Church, Fedora
Marion grew up, graduated high school and began her career in Geneva. She met Harry Lambert at Burgess Norton, where they both worked in September 1959 and she was smitten. She married Harry Lambert on January 23, 1960 and together they raised three children, David, Todd and Teresa. Marion and Harry moved to the family homestead near Fedora, SD in 1973 where they resided for the next 20 years. They retired to Fulton. SD in 1993.
Marion’s life revolved around her family, their farm, her church and crocheting. She was an adult Bible study leader and Sunday School teacher at Endeavor Presbyterian Church in Fedora for 28 years and a silent prayer warrior for her entire life. Marion was known for her Italian spirit, amazing chocolate cake, strawberry rhubarb pie, homemade ravioli and many other Italian dishes. She loved family gatherings, handwritten thank you notes, and playing cards with neighbors and friends.
Most everyone who knew Marion has a piece of her crocheted artwork. She spent hours looking through crochet books and collecting skeins of yarn to create “pieces of love” for family and friends. To her, every stitch she made was a symbol of her love and prayers for the recipients of her handmade dishcloths, dish towels, slipper socks, quilts, lap blankets, jewelry bags, capes and many other items made with love.
Grateful for having shared in Marion’s life are her husband of 59 years, Harry Lambert, three children: David (Virginia) Lambert of Mitchell, SD; Todd (Michele) Lambert of Sioux Falls, SD; and Teresa (Jason) Nelson of Platte, SD; five grandchildren: Abbie and Ella Lambert, Ethan Lambert, Niki and Jada Nelson, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marion was preceded in death by her twin brother, Charles, brothers Ernest and Fred, sister Carmela, and parents, Ernest and Josephine Paulette.
