Obituary

Lavon M. Dornbusch, age 97, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Howard, died Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Avera Prince of Peace in Sioux Falls. Per her request, no funeral service will be held. Visitation with the family present will be 10-11 AM, Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the Willoughby Funeral Home. Private family burial will follow.

Lavon Margie Esser was born on November 25, 1925, at Canova, to Matt and Gena Esser. She graduated from Canova High School. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Dornbusch on June 14, 1949.

Over the years, she helped her husband run Kenny's bar. She also worked at the K&K Store, the Howard Creamery, the Farmers Union, and 23 years for the city of Howard. She liked to go shopping and enjoyed going out to eat. She liked to read and watched a lot of TV. Above all, she loved being with her family. She was a member of the St. Agatha Catholic Church in Howard.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Tim (Rona) Dornbusch and Christel (Arlen) Boso; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Irene.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister Shirley.
