Henry Johnson, age 64, of Sioux Falls, died Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Society in Howard. Per his request, no services will be held.
Henry Johnson was born on December 13, 1957, to Willie Mae Johnson and John Ware, in Selma, AL. Henry graduated from East Perry High school in 1976 in Selma. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army and was discharged two years later. In 1980, Henry moved to Sioux Falls. On October 18, 1985, he married Vanessa (Tschetter) Johnson. Together they had two daughters.
Henry enjoyed working maintenance, gardening, cooking, reading, fishing, camping, and watching the national news.
He is survived by Vanessa Johnson of Huron; daughters, Mariah (Christopher Calderon) Johnson of Denver, CO, and Madison Johnson of Huron; brothers, Thomas J. Melton of MI and Willie Lee Johnson of AL; sisters Brenda Johnson, Linda Johnson, Mary Johnson, Barry Morgan, Etta Melton, JoAnne Melton, Rosetta Bean, and Lilly Melton, all of AL.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Samuel Lee Johnson and Bobby Melton; and one sister Lucy Johnson.
