Duane R. Hanson

Duane Robert Hanson, age 67, of Howard, died Thursday, February 18, 2021, at his home with family by his side, after a battle with cancer. Private family services will be held. Masks will be required.

Duane Hanson was born on August 10, 1953, to Robert and Marie Hanson in Madison. He grew up in Madison and graduated there in 1971. Following high school, he enlisted in the National Guard. On June 5, 1976, he married Jo Bergheim at Belleview Lutheran Church, rural Howard.

Duane owned his own trucking company for many years and always enjoyed working with cows. He will also be remembered for his love of camping, fishing, and gardening

Duane is survived by his wife Jo of Howard; his mother Marie; one son Matt (Beth); one daughter Heather (Brian); eight grandchildren, Hailey, Kenya, Hoyt, Westyn, Ryland, Addison, Brooklynn, and Courtlyn; one brother; and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his father; and one brother.
