Obituary
David T. Anderson, age 81, of Carthage, died Sunday, October 23, 2022, at his home. Memorial services will be 10:30 AM, Friday, October 28, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carthage. Inurnment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
David was born on January 18, 1941, to Clarence and Evelyn Anderson, on a farm near Carthage. He attended and graduated from Carthage High School in 1959. On September 2, 1961, David married the love of his life, Valera Newman, in Carthage. The couple lived in Sioux Falls and in 1964 moved to Carthage where they owned and operated Anderson Oil Company.
He was an active member of the Carthage Fire Department and the Miner County Sportsman Club. He loved horses and was an avid horseman throughout his life.
Survivors include his children, Chad (Angela) Anderson of Belle Fourche, Todd (Tresha) Anderson of Piedmont, and Cort Anderson of Madison; four grandchildren, Theran, Addison, Ireland, and Kynleigh; and two great-grandchildren, Harper and Foster.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Valera; and one grandson Tyler.
