Vernon Ernest Blondell

Vernon Ernest Blondell, 76, of Huron, South Dakota passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017, at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home, Huron, South Dakota.

A Memorial service will be Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Willoughby Funeral Home, Howard, South Dakota, with a inurnment at a later date in the state of Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. 

Vernon Ernest Blondell was born October 24, 1940 at Shelton, Washington to Ernest and Lyla (Jones) Blondell. Vernon was raised in the state of Washington and graduate from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington. Vernon then enlisted into the United States Air Force and was stationed in England where he was a weather observer. He returned to Washington and was united in marriage to Barbara Haak on February 7, 1969 at Burley, Washington and to this union two daughters were born Vanessa and Michelle. The couple lived in Port Orchard where Vernon worked for the shipping yards as a fireman. He retired from this when he was 50, at this time Vernon and Barbara moved to South Dakota and made their final home in Huron.

Survivors include his wife Barbara of Huron, SD; two daughters Vanessa Rosemore of Huron, SD; Michelle (Mike) Conan of Sherwood, OR; four grandchildren Mason, Luke, Dane, Annabelle Conan; a brother Sanford (Vicky) Blondell 0f North Fork, CA; other relatives and friends.
