Ron Lee Kuhle

    Ron Kuhle, 69, of Howard, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017, at his home in Howard, after a long battle with cancer.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at St. Agatha Catholic Church, Howard, with burial to follow in Graceland Cemetery, Howard. Visitation will begin at noon on Monday, with family present to greet friends at 5pm and a Scripture service at 7 pm, all at Willoughby Funeral Home, Howard.

    Ronald Lee Kuhle was born December 27, 1947 on a farmstead near Argonne, South Dakota to Joseph and Helen (Beers) Kuhle. Ron was raised in the Argonne area attending grade school there through the 8^th grade. He then attended St. Agatha Catholic High School in Howard, where he was in the last graduating class of St. Agatha Catholic School in 1966. Ron then attended General Beadle College in Madison, South Dakota. After his schooling, he worked for Sherman and Clark Trucking, Howard for several years.

    Ron then began working at the Sioux Falls Stockyards, later becoming a partner of Adam & Doughtery Livestock Commission Firm, Sioux Falls. In 1995, he sold his partnership, but continued to work for Sioux Land Farmers Commission Firm in the cattle business. He then became semi-retired, keeping busy as he worked for Brown Farms Inc., until poor health caused him to quit.

    Ron then became involved with his small businesses and loved attending auctions, doing woodworking, especially tinkering with antiques.

    Ron was united in marriage to Lois Roby on September 7, 1979 at Lake Tahoe, Nevada, and became a loving husband and father to Lois’s children and later grandchildren, who dearly loved him. Ron will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and may his soul rest in peace.

    Those grateful for having shared in his life include his wife Lois Kuhle of Howard, SD; his three daughters and their children, Kim (Duane) Froseth of Garretson, SD; (Jessica Sundstrom of Mesa, AZ, Matthew Sundstrom of Garretson, SD, Maggan Froseth of Brookings, SD); Kari (Steve) Scott of Gary, SD, (Hannah Merrit of Canby, MN, Noah Scott of Gary, SD); Kelly (Corey) Weitzel of Bellevue, NE; (Jordyn Tollefson of LaVista, NE, Taylor Tollefson of Belleview, NE); a grandchild Hayden Callies of Madison, SD; and his eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Daryl Kuhle of Howard, SD; Mike (Linda) Kuhle of Worthington, MN; a sister, Delda (Leo) Wolf of Sioux Falls, SD; other relatives and friends.

    Ron was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Gary and Robert, a step-son Kent Callies and a step daughter Lisa Callies.
