Leanne Loudenburg, 76, of Canova, South Dakota, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Madison Regional Health System, Madison, South Dakota. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am, Thursday, January 17, 2018 at The Catholic Church of Epiphany, Epiphany, South Dakota, with burial to follow in the Canova Cemetery, Canova, SD. Visitation will be Wednesday, with family present from 5pm to 7pm, at the Willoughby Funeral Home, Howard. Leanne Teresa Gassman was born February 25, 1942 at the Canova Hospital, Canova, South Dakota. Leanne grew up in the Epiphany and Canova area’s where she attended St. Mary’s Catholic Grade School in Epiphany and then graduated from Canova High School in 1960. Leanne then went to Beauty School in 1960, she then worked as a Beautician for over 50 years. Leanne had a beauty shop in her home for numerous years. Leanne was united in marriage to Dan LeRoy Loudenburg on January 16, 1963 at the catholic church in Epiphany. The couple made their home in the Canova area. They where blessed with a boy named Troy. One of Leanne’s main loves was watching her son Troy and her grandchildren, Levi and Luke in their sporting actives. Leanne was a member of the Epiphany Catholic Church and Altar Society, Canova American Legion Auxiliary, Canova Community Club, and was active in helping at community events whenever she could. Leanne will be greatly missed by those she touched. Those grateful for having shared in a part of her life include her son Troy (Debra) Loudenburg of Canova, SD; her grandchildren Levi and Luke Loudenburg; a brother Cletus Gassman of Sioux Falls, SD; two sisters Deanna (Larry) Schaefers of Farmer, SD; Rochelle (Ron) Clough of Fort Meyers, FL; a special friend Marvin Carlson of Salem, SD; other relatives and friends. Leanne was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dan Loudenburg (1996).
