LaVonne M. Stock, age 90 of Burnsville, Minnesota died Friday evening, August 10, 2018, at St. Mark’s Nursing Home in Austin, Minnesota. LaVonne Marion Stock was born to Roy and Catherine (Hauser) Stock on March 2, 1928, in Howard, South Dakota. She grew up on the family farm near Howard with her brother Willis and sister Iverene. She graduated from Howard High School in 1945. Banking was her life-long career beginning at the Miner County Bank in Howard. She spent much of her adult life working at the Marquette Bank in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. With her involvement in the AIB (American Institute of Banking) she was able to travel to many places throughout the world, including Hawaii, Bavaria, Jamaica, El Salvador and Majorca. She lived in Burnsville, Minnesota, for over 30 years and spent many enjoyable hours in her garden at Ridgeview. Her quilting group at Rosemount United Methodist Church also provided many hours of fun and friendship. Playing Dominos with her friends and family provided her much enjoyment. In fact, she taught the younger generation how to play. She was always willing to play cards and games with the little ones. She was a faithful and loyal fan of the Minnesota Twins and watched almost all of their games.
Bonnie’s family was very important to her and very central to her life. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by nieces and nephew, Cathy (Ben) Stock Douglas of Clovis, California, Linda Stock of Wheatridge, Colorado, Larry (Deb) Stock of Mesa, Arizona, Janet (Gary) Anderson Wagenaar of Austin, Minnesota, and Marleen (Sherman) Anderson Cohen of Aurora, Colorado; as well as 7 great nieces and nephews and 8 great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and one sister.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Beach United Methodist Church in Howard, South Dakota with Pastor Janice Antrim officiating. The family will greet friends and family one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Graceland Cemetery in Howard, South Dakota. Memorials should be directed to the Beach United Methodist Church in Howard, South Dakota. Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and the Willoughby Funeral Home of Howard are assisting the family with arrangements.
