Kim Miller Obituary

Kim Ivan Miller, 61, of Winfred, South Dakota went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 2, 2018.

Memorial services will be held at 11am, Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Howard, South Dakota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Kim Ivan Miller was born July 16, 1956 in Mitchell, South Dakota to Duane and Shirley (Derscheid) Miller. Kim grew up around Winfred and Howard, attending grade school and graduating from Howard High School in 1975. While in high school, he was involved in multiple sports, H-Club and FBLA. After graduating, he continued farming with his father.

Kim was united in marriage to Vicki Dannert on April 8, 1978 in Creighton, Nebraska.  To this union three children were born, Kristy, Katy and Kurt. The couple lived on the farm in rural Winfred, where Kim continued farming, as this was always his passion. When he wasn't farming with his father or helping other farmers in the area, he was involved with his children and grandchildren or watching sporting events.

Kim was quiet and lived a humble life. He dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved spoiling them when they came to the farm and asked him for gator, tractor and combine rides. Kim will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Those grateful for having shared in his life include his wife, Vicki, of Winfred, SD; two daughters, Kristy (T.J.) Carlson and Katy (Andrew) Van Zee, both of Brookings, SD; a son, Kurt Miller, of Madison, SD; his four grandchildren, Noah and Sidney Carlson, Levi and Alexis Van Zee; his parents, Duane and Shirley Miller, of Winfred, SD; his siblings, Gary Miller, of Rapid City, SD; Leah (Pete) Bisgard of Waubay, SD; Todd (Sharon) Miller of Sioux Falls, SD; Dana (Jeff) Dykstra of Pierre, SD; Jill (John) Lutmer of Pierre, SD; Robin (Andre) Supersad of Middletown, OH; numerous nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends.

Kim was preceded in death by his grandparents.
