Keegan D. Werkmeister, age 25, of Canova, died Friday, August 2, 2019, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, as the result of a motorcycle accident. A Celebration of Life Service will be 5:01 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, August 9, 2019, at the 4-H Grounds in Howard.
Keegan was born July 12,1994, in Huron, SD, to Shane and Brenda (Cramer) Werkmeister. He graduated from Howard High School in 2013. Keegan then went on to Mitchell Vo-Tech for welding. After many different jobs in Mitchell, he found that a Wind Tech position at Renew Energy was his favorite.
Keegan was involved in FFA, football, music, wrestling all while in high school. He also was very active in 4H including: shooting sports, draft horses (4 time state champion), poultry, and dog events.. He was also Miner County 4H King. Keegan loved to hunt deer and raccoons. He also enjoyed trapping and one of his favorite things to do was paddle fishing. One of his greatest passions was riding motorcycles.
Those who enjoyed his life are his parents, Shane and Brenda; brothers Austin (Cassie) Werkmeister of Mitchell and Garret (Danielle) Werkmeister of Lacey WA; nieces and nephews, Hannah, Hailey, Hadlee, Colby, and Jackson.
Keegan is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Harold (Clara) Werkmeister, Lawrence (Josephine) Albers, John (Ella Mae) Cramer, and Irving (Gladys) Jennings.
