Memorial services will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Endeavor Presbyterian Church in Fedora. Inurnment will follow at the Fedora Cemetery.

He attended country school (Glee Lake and Manley) and Fedora High School, graduating in 1942.  He then joined the Navy and was deployed to the South Pacific.  He was married to his wife Angeline Mae (Bilka) on May 28th 1948.  They moved to Lead, SD where he worked at the Homestake Gold Mine.  In 1951 they moved to the farm near Fedora. In 1954 they moved to Mitchell where he was employed with the state of South Dakota Department of Transportation.  In 1958 they moved back to the farm where he farmed and did construction work, maintaining roads for 4 townships and doing custom work with the backhoe.  In 1988 he retired from full time farming and construction work.  In 2007 they moved from the farm to Mitchell, SD, then in 2016 they moved to Bennington, NE to be near their daughter Carol and husband Michael.

Fred enjoyed the outdoors, especially the fall pheasant hunting season.  Fred and Angie hosted a large group of hunters at the farm for many years, a highlight of the fall that they both looked forward to every year.

Frederick is survived by his children Deborah (Greg) White of Prairie du Sac, WI, Douglas (Tami) Wendt of Sioux Falls, SD, Chris (Darlene) Wendt of Concord, NC, and Carol (Michael) Bigley of Omaha, NE.  He had three grandchildren (Kevin, Chris, and Taylor), and three great grandchildren (Elliott, Davitt, and Christian).

Frederick was preceded in death by his wife Angeline of 71 years, his brother Vinton, and his parents Chris and Ethel.
