Esther Barbara Grant, 95, of Huron, South Dakota formerly of Howard, South Dakota, went to be with Lord and Savior on Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Sunquest Healthcare, Huron. Funeral services will be 11am, Friday, March 8, 2019 at Beach United Methodist Church, Howard, with burial to follow in Graceland Cemetery, Howard. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on the day of funeral. Esther Barbara Robinson was born January 26, 1924, to Louis and Lillian (Norman) Robinson at Frankfort, South Dakota. Esther attended country school until the sixth grade, when she entered the Frankfort Public School. Esther graduated from the Frankfort High School in 1942. After graduating, she went to San Diego, California to seek employment. Esther took employment with Southern California Telephone, as a long distant operator. In May of 1943, Esther went to Palacios, Texas and was united in marriage to Howard Grant on May 19, 1943, at an Army Chapel. In 1944, she returned to Redfield, South Dakota and worked at different jobs until Howard was honorably discharged in 1946. In 1956, Esther started to work at the ASA Office, Redfield, then in 1957 she transferred to the Miner County ASCS Office. Esther worked in the office for thirty years and will be remembered for her dedication to the farmers of Miner County. Esther was a member of Beach United Methodist, Howard. Esther was the last living sibling of her family. Esther is survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard (2004), s sister Eula Nevala, five brothers Martin, Oliver, Keith, Norm and Dean.
