Donald M. Barrick, 75, Wheaton, Illinois formerly of Carthage, South Dakota, passed away on May 18, 2018 in Wheaton. Memorial services will be Monday, June 11, 2018 - 11:00am, at Willoughby Funeral Home, Howard, with inurnment to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carthage. Don was born on January 27, 1943 in Howard, South Dakota to Maurice and Dorothy (Wallace) Barrick. Don spent his early years in Winfred, South Dakota, California and Carthage. Don graduated from Carthage High School in 1961. Don then moved to Illinois. His life revolved around his friendships through Don’s Auto Ade and loved playing and watching golf. Don is survived by one sister Kathy Poppen of Madison, SD; sister-in-law Lenora Barrick of Carthage, SD; a nephew Maurice (Melissa) Barrick of Sioux Falls, SD; three nieces Michele (Jerry) Visser of Brookings, SD; Marsha (Don) Ackerman of Burnsville, MN; Penny Millard of Madison, SD; several great nieces and nephews and a step-daughter Candice Verner of St. Charles, IL, and other relatives and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Larry Barrick, several aunts, uncles and many other relatives and friends.
