Beverly Rose Erikson (Beecham), 90, passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at the Madison Regional Health System, Madison, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 10:30am, Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Howard, with burial to follow in Belleview Lutheran Church, rural Howard. Visitation will be 5pm to 7pm on Friday at Willoughby Funeral Home, Howard. Beverly Rose Beecham was born May 14, 1928 in Madison, South Dakota to Phillip and Ida Blanche (Myers) Beecham. Beverly spent the first eight years of school at Lincoln Elementary, Madison. Her family them moved to Tooele, Utah as her father worked for the defense department and back to South Dakota where she attended Orland High School, before graduating in 1946 from Eastern High School, Madison. Beverly was united in marriage to Arnold Erikson on January 14, 1947 in Pipestone, Minnesota. The couple farmed near Canova, South Dakota, before settling on a farm northeast of Howard. To this union six children were born, Linda, Larry, Lois, Lavern, Ladonna, Leslie. Arnold passed away on February 9, 1987. Beverly stayed on the farm until she moved into Howard in 2005. Beverly loved her family and enjoyed cooking, baking, handy work. She was involved in many organizations but her church work, bowling, water aerobics and Red Hatters she enjoyed most. Health issues led to a move to Brandon in 2012, to be near family and doctors. Beverly recently returned to Howard and was a resident of Whispering Winds Assisted Living. Those surviving that are grateful for having shared in a part of her life include her children Larry (Diana) Erikson of Scranton, IA; Lois Brinkman of Watertown, SD; Lavern (Judy) Erikson of West Fargo, ND; Ladonna (Jim) Schneider of Gettysburg, SD; Leslie (Brenda) Erikson of Brandon, SD; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; other relatives and friends. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, husband; eldest daughter Linda and a son-in-law Dale Brinkman.
