Ardis Jean (Hauge) Sneesby

Ardis Jean Sneesby, 82, of Howard died Thursday,  June 29, 2017, at the Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell. Funeral services will be 10:30am, Monday, July 3, 2017 at Willoughby Funeral Home, Howard, with burial to follow in Belleview Lutheran Cemetery, rural Howard. Visitation will begin Sunday with family present from 5 to 7pm at Willoughby Funeral Home, Howard and will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Ardis Jean Hauge was born May 2, 1935 at Howard, South Dakota to George and Agnes (Dale) Hauge. Ardis grew up in the area and was a graduate of Howard High School. Ardis was united in marriage to Eldon Sneesby on June 25, 1953 at Belleview Lutheran Church, rural Howard. The couple lived in Oregon and various places before moving to Downers Grove, Illinois, where she worked as a bank cashier for many years. The couple moved to Arizona after retiring in 1990. They later moved to Mitchell and settled in Howard. Ardis enjoyed reading and her flower gardens. She was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Mitchell. Those grateful for having shared in her life include her husband of 64 years, Eldon Sneesby of Howard, SD; a son, John of Naperville, IL; two daughters, Joni (Paul) Elliot of Oak Brook, IL; Jean (Joe) Mc Master of Roselle, IL; a brother, George (Sharon) Hauge of Murrieta, CA; two grandchildren, Kristin (Leigh) Goldfine, Mark Sneesby and three great grandchildren, Jessica, Lily and Logan; other relatives and friends. Ardis was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Merle and Roger Hauge.
