Virginia Marie (Stock) Moschell, "Grandma Farmer", as she was known, was born July 1st, 1929, on the Stock homestead three miles northwest of Howard, South Dakota to Otto and Sophia (Allgaier) Stock. She had an older sister Dorothy, and a younger brother Duane. She graduated from Howard High School and worked at the Miner County Bank before she met the love of her life, Alan Moschell, at the Fedora Dance Hall. He would drive through the bank just to see her. They were married November 20th, 1949, and had six children: Vicky, Connie, Gary, Daniel, Carl and Beth. They farmed near Roswell, South Dakota from 1949 to present.
Virginia loved to dance with her husband in Mitchell, SD on Saturday nights and any other time they had a chance. Her hobbies included singing in the choir, baking, gardening, and bird watching. If ice cream or popcorn were involved, Virginia was there. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was also an active member in her church and had a very strong faith in God.
She passed away on November 27th, 2023, at the age of 94, at Bethany Home in Brandon, South Dakota. Celebration of life will be at the Beach United Methodist Church on Saturday December 2nd, 2023, at 11:00 AM. Visitation also at the Beach United Methodist Church on Friday, December 1st,2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, prayer service following at 6:00 PM.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Sophia Stock, her brother, Duane Stock, her sister, Dorothy Schrooten, her husband Alan Moschell, her grandson Nicolas Moschell, and son-in-law Dirk Adair. She is survived by her children, Vicky Fizpatrick (Dan Koepp), Connie Adair, Gary Moschell (Lynette), Daniel Moschell (Jeralee Moschell), Carl Moschell (Jodi Moschell) and Beth Dalton (Rick Dalton). Upon her death "Grandma Farmer" left a legacy for her 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
