Laurie J. Jacobson

Laurie J. Jacobson, age, 61, of Howard, SD, died December 7, 2023, at her home in Howard. Memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at St John Lutheran Church in Howard, SD. 

Visitation will be at the church one hour preceding the services.  The inurnment will be at St Johns Cemetery in Howard, SD. 

Laurie Jean Jacobson was born November 1, 1962, to Ronald and Nancy (Cooley) Jacobson at Sioux Falls, SD.  Laurie unexpectedly passed of natural causes at her home in Howard, SD on December 7, 2023. 

Laurie attended school in Sioux Falls, SD and later received her G.E.D.  After high school Laurie lived a couple of years in California before returning to South Dakota to marry Ronald Alley and then moved to Nashville, TN.  After her divorce from Ronald, she then spent the next 29 years married to Kenneth Dunn.  Laurie worked at Marshall & Bruce, Nashville, in their accounting department for 30 years before retiring and returning to Howard, SD.   At the time of her death Laurie thoroughly enjoyed her job at Whispering Winds Assisted Living working with the residents. 

Those grateful for having shared in her life are her mother Nancy, stepfather Ernie Grieme (Richfield, MN), brother Rod and sister-in-law Sarah Jacobson (Lancaster, CA) and brother Doug and sister-in-law Deanna Jacobson (Moreno Valley, CA), Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews, Cousins, and all of her extended family.

Laurie was preceded in death by her father Ronald (2016), Grandparents Laurence and Sylvia Cooley and Carl and Eunice Jacobson, Uncle Robert and Aunt Arlene Hinker, Cousins Sandra Bernhard, Terry Schaefer, Scott Hinker.   The service will be livestreamed on the St. Johns Lutheran (Howard, SD) Facebook page.
