Phyllis Frances Paradeis, 84, of Howard formerly of Sioux Falls passed away Thursday, March 01, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society, Howard. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am, Monday, March 5, 2018, at St. Agatha Catholic Church, Howard, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Howard. Visitation with family present will be Sunday, starting at 2pm with a Scripture service to be said at 4pm, all at the Catholic Church in Howard. Phyllis Frances Neises was born October 9, 1933, on a farmstead near Roswell, Miner County, South Dakota to William and Mary (Leider) Neises. Phyllis grew up in the area attending county school and later graduating from St. Agatha Catholic High School in 1951. Phyllis was married to Donald Paradeis on October 15, 1953 at Epiphany, South Dakota. The couple lived in Epiphany, where she raised her children, they later moved to Sioux Falls in 1967. In 1977, moved to Sturgis, South Dakota. A few years later Phyllis moved back to Sioux Falls. While living in Sioux Falls she worked for grocery stores and as a Home Health Care person, her main occupation was selling Stanley Home Products. Phyllis was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW both of Sioux Falls. Phyllis enjoyed going to rummage sales, where she would purchase stuffed animals, clean and fix them up to give to children. She loved to travel to see her children and especially her grandchildren, who she dearly loved. Those grateful for having shared in her life include her children Bill Paradeis of Sioux Falls, SD; Kathy (Tim) Shelley of Gibsonia, PA; Jeanette (Paul) Staley of Sturgis, SD; Janel (Walter) Peoples of Glendale, AZ; her seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother Leon Neises of Howard, SD; two sisters Dolores Rasmussen and Alice Kaufmann both of Howard, SD; two sisters-in-law Elaine Neises and Bonnie Burmeister both of Howard, SD; other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers Jerry and John Neises, and a sister Marjorie Genzlinger.
