Kristin Schierholz

Kristin Brandis Schierholz, age 39 of Salem formerly of Sioux Falls, died Sunday, June 18, 2017, at the Salem Care and Rehabilitation Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, June 23, 2017, at the Larchwood Community Center in Larchwood, IA.

Kristin Elaine Schierholz was born October 5, 1977, at Rock Rapids, Iowa, to Milo Schierholz and Carol Scholten. She was raised in Lyon County and graduated from West Lyon High School in 1996. Kristin was married in 2004 and had four children. She held various jobs over her lifetime, most recently working as a Medical Assistant at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Due to health complications she had to quit working.

In November of 2016, she became a resident of the Salem Care and Rehabilitation Center where she resided until her death. She deeply loved her children, family and always had a smile and kind word for everyone. Kristin was always known for being an optimistic person no matter the situation.

Survivors include her parents, Milo (Carol) Schierholz of Fair Play, MO and Carol Gannon of Howard; four daughters, Morgan Brandis, Mersaydees Brandis, Aaliyah Brandis, and Isabella Brandis; her siblings, Bob (Bekah) Schierholz of Eagle River, AK, Kelley (Kelci) Schneider of Eagle River, AK, Angie (Dennis) Schierholz of Eagle River, AK, Christi (Tyce) Bruns of Olathe, KS, Mindy (Emlyn) Freeman of Salem, OR, Sara (Cristian) Perez of Overland Park, KS, Brian (Megan) Gannon of Howard, and Zachary Gannon of Howard and other relatives and friends.
